COLOUR MY WORLD

'Shirley, God's poet

Fashion, gems, color, bright

Glisten evermore'

A Haiku poem by Douglas Rodriguez

Following an extended battle with breast cancer, SHIRLEY BOLSTOK, walked into the open arms of God on September 3, 2021,  Shirley was an esteemed writer, author, poet, artist and life coach.  Ms, Bolstok authored several books including 'Boobie Heaven' making light of breast cancer and honoring its victims.  Shirley's life journey is celebrated by her many friends and collegues around the world.  Her final wish was that the domain for this website, which she created, be used to design a forum where poets and writers can share their creations including books and jewelry which were among her greatest passions.

Shirley was the second child of the late Helen 'Hela' Bolstok and Szlama 'Sam' Bolstok of Denver, Colorado.  The Bolstok family immigrated to the U.S. in the l940's where they settled and raised their two daughters.

Helen and Szlama were holocaust survivors.  Adding to their suffering, in the 70's Sam became an American gun violence survivor when a criminal entered and robbed his Denver small business while Sam was working late to support his family.  For eight agonizing years Sam survived unrelenting pain that resulted from nerve damage he suffered as a result of gunshot wounds.  Despite being twice victims of violence, Sam and Helen gave birth to Shirley and shared their gift of love, kindness and poetry with the world.  Now Shirley has become our eternal link with God.  Your poetry and writing is a treasured acknowledgement of Shirley's selfless life of generosity and peace.
